About CHW

Center for a Healthy World (CHW) is a training, therapy, and service cooperative, designed to bring a healthy world through people giving and receiving free service.

CHW was founded in 1992 by Dori Middleman, MD, then a young psychiatrist interested in learning from others about various therapies. So, as one component of CHW, free training sessions are offered for the volunteer therapists to learn new things about helping people.

Dori had also been involved in organizing projects in other communities and believed in the concept that people do best when not put in the role of needing free service but in the role of capable community members able to give back for what they receive.

The successes of the program are equally the benefits of the free therapy people receive and the volunteer work they do in charitable organizations of all types which empowers them and gives them an opportunity to develop confidence, confidence, and learn new skills as well.
